Anna Ziegler (Writer)

Anna Ziegler’s plays include: BFF (W.E.T. at the DR2 Theatre, 2007), Novel (SPF, 2007), Photograph 51 (commissioned by Active Cultures and produced February-March, 2008), Life Science (Bulldog Theatrical, 2007), Variations on a Theme (to be work-shopped July 2008 by Chautauqua Theater Company, directed by Ethan McSweeny), In the Same Room, The Minotaur, To Be Fair and Everything You Have. Ziegler’s plays have been developed by: The Sundance Theatre Lab, The Old Vic New Voices program, Primary Stages, The Geva Theatre Center, The McCarter Theatre, The Lark Play Development Center, Ars Nova, The Kennedy Center, Theater J, New Georges (where she is an Affiliated Artist), Clubbed Thumb, The New Harmony Project, The hotINK Festival, Icicle Creek Theatre Festival, Catalyst Theater, The Playwright’s Center PlayLabs Festival, Short + Sweet Festival (Melbourne, Australia), The Fireraisers Theatre Company at the Hampstead Theatre (London) and The Birmingham Rep, and by Company B at the Belvoir St. Theatre (Sydney, Australia). She has been published in Ten-Minute Plays for 2 Actors: The Best of 2004 (Smith and Kraus, Inc.) and New American Short Plays 2005 (Backstage Books, ed. Craig Lucas). BFF and Life Science will be published by Dramatists Play Service and BFF will be included in the anthology, New Playwrights: The Best Plays of 2007 (Smith and Kraus).

Alex Sims (Director)

Dov and Ali is Alex’s first production as director. He recently completed a year as Resident Assistant Director at The Donmar Warehouse. As Assistant at the Donmar – John Gabriel Borkman, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Betrayal, Absurdia, Parade, Othello. Other assisting credits – King John, Much Ado about Nothing (RSC Complete Works), Phaedra’s Love (Young Vic), Blood Wedding (Almeida).

Morgan Large (Designer)

Morgan trained at LIPA where he received a first class degree in Theatre and Performance Design, the Sennheiser Award for Theatre and Performance Design and The Philip Holt Trust Award. Designs for Musical Theatre: Maria Friedman: Rearranged (Menier Chocolate Factory), Footloose (West End, Novello/Playhouse, 2006, 07, 08 UK tours), Shout! (2008 UK Tour), Fame (West End, Shaftesbury), Three Sides (45th St. Theatre, NYC). Designs for plays: Equus (Redesign to Tour 2008 – Original Design by John Napier), The Comedy of Errors (Oval House), Rock (Unity Liverpool and tour), Marlon Brando’s Corset (Yvonne Arnaud & UK tour), A Bequest to the Nation, Yerma, Tis Pity She’s a Whore (Jermyn Street). Designs for Opera/Ballet: Planet Wondeful (Royal Danish Ballet, Copenhagen), Don Giovanni (Opera East). As Associate Designer to Christopher Oram: King Lear/ The Seagull (RSC World Tour, Directed by Trevor Nunn), Othello, Parade, Don Juan in Soho, Grand Hotel (Donmar), Frost/ Nixon (Donmar, West End & Broadway), Evita (Adelphi), Don Carlos (Gielgud), Guys and Dolls (Piccadilly and UK Tour), Falstaff (Gothenburg Opera), Lovely Evening / In the Blue (Young Vic at Theatre 503). As Assistant Designer to John Napier: Gone with the Wind (New London – Directed by Trevor Nunn).

Claire Birch (Producer)

Claire is a freelance producer and arts administrator. She produced the highly successful Cotton Wool at Theatre503 in April 2008. For the Royal Court she produced the sell out Young Writers Festival 2006/07 including 2 productions and 8 readings. In March 2007 she produced Breakfast Hearts and Choirplay for Tickle Theatre Company at Theatre503. As an assistant producer for London Artists Projects she worked on a wide range of arts projects and productions including the opera Elephant and Castle at the Aldeburgh Festival 2007. In addition she is currently the interim General Manager at Jacksons Lane and Creative producer for Buckle For Dust Theatre Company.

David Holmes (Lighting Designer)

David trained at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Tom Hackley (Sound Designer)

Tom has just finished his BA degree in Theatre Sound Design at The Central School of Speech and Drama and has been working with and designing sound for performance since the age of 11. As well as working as a freelance Sound Designer, Tom does Video Design for performances and events and runs a Sound and Video hire company. Gracie Harris (Casting)

This is Gracie’s Casting Director debut for theatre. Theatre Casting Assistant credits for the Donmar include: Absurdia, Parade, Othello, The Man Who Had All The Luck, Small Change, The Chalk Garden. Casting Assistant credits for Television include: The Whistleblowers, Ladies and Gentlemen, The Grey Man, Freezing, Great News.

Suzie Jenkins (Stage Manager)

Susie has been working in stage management for 3 years, professional credits include Hello & Goodbye at Trafalgar Studios; Scarborough and Free Outgoing at The Royal Court; The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant at Southwark Playhouse; Scarborough at The Assembly Rooms Edinburgh (winner of a ‘Fringe First’); But Beautiful at The Warehouse Croydon; Ship of Fools at Theatre 503; A Nightingale Sang In Eldon Square and Top Girls at Live Theatre Newcastle; and We Love You Arthur on tour with Northern Firebrand. She also completed a degree in Theatre Practice from The Central School of Speech & Drama.

Matthew Sedmak (Assistant Director)

Directing credits: Girlfriend in a Coma (adapted), Death and the Maiden, The Misanthrope. Matthew studied Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies with Psychology at Roehampton Univeristy.

Hannah Spens-Black (Assistant Producer)

Hannah is a freelance producer. She is Producer of the annual CASA Latin American Theatre Festival, which in 2008 takes place at the Union Theatre. She works full time at the Young Vic in their finance department. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche in 2006.

Chris Withers (Lighting Assistant)

Chris is currently studying Lighting Design at Rose Bruford College. In addition to his studies he works as a freelance lighting designer and production electrician. Recent credits as designer include: Frankenstein at the Barbican Theatre, Plymouth and Please Look At Me Now at the Lorretto Theatre for YMT, UK.
